Idiots of Ants are a comedy group based in London, they formed in 2007, and have since had successes both at the Edinburgh Festival, and on the BBC and were shown on Fox News. They are playing a variety of gigs across the country.
LOOKING BACK
I sang ‘Happy Birthday’ so many times during my early childhood that I still remember the words. I still sing it on occasion now. During my primary school years the oldest children performed a play for the younger kids. The lead was played by the school-bully but in the play he was the most friendly and lovable character. Seeing that either made me realise the power of theatre or the power of deception. I guess they are the same thing.
THE PRESENT
I like predictable music such as Coldplay, The Killers, Matchbox 20 but then other more obscure like Bright Eyes, Joanna Newsom and The Indigo Girls. I wouldn’t say that my tastes have changed. They’ve merely expanded. I like Jazz and Classical music now. The film I could watch 100 times is Life is Beautiful. I was once told that a good play makes you laugh in the first half and cry in the second half. A great play makes you laugh in the first half and cry about the same things in the second half. This film does exactly that. Time and time again.
LOOKING FORWARD
I’m a very competitive so ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ by Daft Punk would be the song that sums up my life. I wish I was Jade Jagger so I could choose ‘Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone’. In a film of my life, I’d like to play the lead. Not for any egotistical reason. I could just do with some money. To paint my portrait, there’s a jolly nice fellow who hangs out near Piccadilly Circus and uses charcoal. He only charges £15. Bargain.
