Maintaining an ethical Union and speaking out against ID cards are on the agenda of the General Meeting this Wednesday, which with only two motions up for vote could be one of the shortest yet.
With the deadline for proposing motions falling in reading week, unusually few were submitted, though the ones up for debate are nonetheless important. Staying Ethical would hold the Students’ Union true to its expired policy against Nestle and Coke products and in favour of ethical alternatives, whereas NO2ID would declare a stance against the controversial ID cards, in line with National Union of Students beliefs.
Enticing students to attend, Communications Officer Tom Fairhurst said “free food and drink” that would be provided during the meeting.
“With only two motions, so it’s going to be a quick one, so please come along and have some fun.”
