We asked our editors and friends what they wanted for Christmas and their hopes for 2010…
Helen Stuart, Food and Drink Editor:
Seeing as he’s bidding the TARDIS au-revoir, I wouldn’t mind getting David Tennant in my stocking this year. Failing that, some rose and violet creams wouldn’t go amiss. In the new year… A decent degree would be nice!
Leah Armstrong, Fashion Editor:
I want an espresso maker, a subscription to 10 Magazine and the Viktor and Rolf Fragrance (although, if you are reading this and you know me- I would also like a surprise). Hopes for 2010: Bring back Luella.
Robyn McKeown, New Writing Editor:
I want a sewing machine for Christmas because I am going to make new curtains. And I hope that next year I find lots of bargains in the Northern Quarter that don’t fit me, but I will make them fit me, with my new ace sewing machine.
Daniel Starkey, Literature Editor:
I really want some waterproof trousers, so I can cycle in the rain! And I’m hoping for some positive outcomes from Copenhagen in the new year too.
James Campbell, TV Editor:
For Christmas I want them to show The Land Before Time on the TV again. Next year I hope/wish I start getting chatted up women in clubs to raise my rock bottom self esteem.
Gabriel Hassan, University of Manchester Students’ Union General Secretary:
I want a decent deal from the Copenhagen climate change talks for Christmas! Next year I want to be able to take my bicycle to bits and put it back together again.

My hope for the new year is that God reveals his/herself to me by unleashing unto Bop a pack of ravenous Velociraptors. For Christmas, I don’t want to be too optimistic, but coal.
