Ida Maria is the latest artist to come from that renowned hotbed of female rock singer/songwriter activity, Norway. ‘Stella’s’ melody is more than just a nod to Martha Reeves and the Vandella’s ‘Jimmy Mack’, but the similarities end there. In her impassioned, gravelly vocals, Ida sings of the lengths even God would go to in times of loneliness, i.e. trading the world for a prostitute.
