LUST IN THE MOVIES is the brand new clubbing innovation of femme fatales/disco DJs Vic and Sarah. The girls are veterans of the Manchester clubbing scene after running the highly successful “Killing Fantasy” for over three years, along with Vic’s sister Becka. When the girls became bored of the same (but ever popular) format they decided to try something new… and the concept of Lust in the Movies was born.
The LitM DJs will be playing a female-focused soundtrack with Riot Grrrl, Punk, New Wave, Pop, Indie pop, Sixties Girl Groups and Rock ‘n’ Roll. However, University of Manchester graduate Vic maintains the night is not just aimed at the ladies. “One of the best things about Killing Fantasy was the mixed crowd and we hope LitM will attract similar people.”
The LitM launch party features a very special set from Fanny Divine. “She’s a gorgeous Mancunian burlesque artist,” Vic explains. “She'll be performing her very special Harry Potter routine on the night!”
The two are also involved in Monday’s Female Trouble, an evening showcasing female fronted music to promote IN THE CITY 2007 (see Monday’s listings for full details).
