Calls For International LGBT Rights

THE NEXT General Meeting is due to take place this Wednesday, if enough students attend.

Several previous meetings have had to be cancelled because of poor attendance.

Among the issues to be discussed are LGBT rights, abortion and the conflict with Iran.

'Love Without Borders – International LGBT Rights' is a motion based on the argument against international persecution of the minority group, while access to education will be discussed in 'The Fight for a Free Education.'

The motion 'Stand Up For Abortion Rights' opposes any restrictions on access to abortion services. Lastly, 'Troops Out! Don't Attack Iran!' campaigns for the withdrawal of troops from the Middle East, and opposes an attack on Iran.

Any student can help to determine which motions become UMSU policy by voting at the next General Meeting on Wednesday at 1.30pm in Academy 2.
