Costume Enterprise

FANCY DRESS costumes are the latest business venture for a group of Manchester students.

With a database of clients that includes many AU teams, the final year Design Enterprise students intend to provide a service for as many parties as possible.

Working under the moniker of "Dress-Up Box", the students flogged £5 shares to friends and family to raise £200 to start up the business.

Katy Hicks, marketing director of the group, explained their decision to venture into the fancy dress market: "While students represent a potentially massive market for this, there just weren't that many outlets for it in Manchester.

"We are currently using the same supplier as the Arndale outlet, but we are a lot cheaper."

The team have been making some costumes to order, but say that off-the-rack costumes cost between 80p and £10.

Ms Hicks pointed out: "You can get a French maid's outfit for only £4!"
