"RECLAIMING CUNT: Don't let your vagina be an insult!" is one of the bold motions to be discussed at this week's general meeting.
Women's rights campaigners are calling for the term 'cunt' to be transformed from an insult into a positive word, shedding its degrading connotations.
If the motion passes, all Union events will have to be described as 'cunting events' and the Women's Rights Group will have to be described as 'cunting'.
Elizabeth Somerville and Jennie Killip, present and future Women's Officers, are calling for the changes, as part of the fight against the oppression of women.
However, it is unlikely that a debate on the word cunt will be held, as there are six other issues that were deemed more important that are to be discussed first.
First up for discussion is a debate on the funding of higher education. 'Free Education', calls for a radical change in the current funding system.
Also to be debated is 'Going Green', a motion calling for the University to be more environmentally friendly.
The meeting will take place at 1.30pm in Academy Two and needs 300 people to attend before any debate can take place.
